Welcome to Little Dreamers Farm! We are a small homestead in North Georgia. We try our best to grow our own food, and live sustainably, and show other dreamers that it’s possible to feed your family and make your dreams come true on a smaller piece of property.
Hello! I’m Marilla!
My Husband, Mike and I, live on 5 beautiful acres in North Georgia with our 3 boys. Mike is a firefighter and I am a full time Realtor. We built our dream farmhouse on this property and have been cultivating the property piece by piece to become a sustainable homestead.
About Me..
I am a born and raised Georgian, and grew up in a suburban neighborhood. I am one of 11 children, (number 5 to be exact) and my mother lovingly homeschooled us all through k-12.
I am a full time Realtor and help my clients buy and sell all over North Georgia but especially love finding clients who are looking for that perfect homestead to start their own dreams on.
I am a bonus mom to my two oldest boys, and momma to the youngest. My husband is a Firefighter and can build and fix anything including vintage tractors, barns, chicken coops, dream laundry rooms, cars, motorcycles….I can keep going.
He has his own YouTube channel that you can check out here! Project Dad Life
I am a lover of all things homemade and homegrown, natural and sustainable. Nothing makes me happier than kneading my sourdough or walking through a garden.
Baking from scratch, fermenting foods, preserving vegetables are my favorite!
I am intrigued by healthy alternatives for cleaning, cooking and medicine.
I have a passion for reading and sewing and have a fascination with filling my home with all things thrifted, vintage or second-hand.
How We Started…
Our journey started in a suburban home with a small backyard garden and a coop with two hens. We had always dreamt of having a farm with goats, a garden, and space to breathe!
In 2017, Mike made it happen. We found a dilapidated fixer upper on 5 acres that needed so much work, but the barn and the property were so worth it! After jumping many hurdles, we closed on the property and started the process of fixing up the place and learned so many lessons along the way.
In October 2017, less than 6 months after we purchased the place, we were married in the back pasture under the oak tree!
Amid many DIY projects, renovations, gardening fails and animal experiences, my youngest, Walter, was born in September 2018. We were outgrowing the farmhouse and started looking for something we could expand our skills on! The next property didn’t hit our radar until April 2020. 16 acres another hour north. We jumped on it and finished the renovation completely and sold our first farm. We were moving to Green Gables.

Green Gables Renovation
Green Gables was another property that needed a lot of work. The entire place had to be renovated again, but the property was amazing! Unfortunately, as life happens, we realized that while we loved the property, it was just not a good fit. We missed our friends and family and the commute for my husband was just too much. We decided after a year that it was just not meant for us. We started looking for land this time and found exactly what we needed, closer to our families but still enough land to do what we wanted! We finished the reno of Green Gables and sold the second farm, embarking on our first new construction project.

The New Little Dreamers Farm
God knew what he was doing when he led us to our little paradise. We started from scratch on a vacant piece of land and are working the land to feed our family. I can’t wait to share the journey with you and inspire you to start your own!
We have a whole series of videos that go into the building process of our new farm!
Fun Facts about me..
I was a competitive gymnast and coached gymnastics for many years! I’m known to throw a random cartwheel around.
I met Mike through real estate! I sold him a house!
I could probably survive off Caprese salads for the rest of my life.
My Mom named me from the Anne of Green Gables books.
I can finish a book in a matter of days, and always have too many books checked out from the library.
When I was younger, I thought I wanted to travel the world.. but I’ve realized I’m a terrible flyer, and a terrible sailor, so I’m happy with road trips and farming!
